New Schools Coming to St. Johns County

Opening in Fall 2024, Trout Creek Academy, Shearwater’s innovative K-8 school, promises to be a beacon of educational excellence nestled within the community’s embrace on 26.5 acres of land. Designed to cater to 1500 students, it boasts a dynamic learning environment with grade-based and multi-age groupings facilitated by dedicated teaching teams. The school’s extensive facilities include 32 primary classrooms, 22 intermediate classrooms, 6 state-of-the-art science labs, resource rooms, skills labs, spaces for exceptional education, art and music rooms, areas for physical education and vocational training, and a fully equipped media center. 


Rivertown’s new K-8 Academy, set on 32 acres within the community, will welcome around 1100 students starting fall 2025. The school emphasizes collaborative teaching teams, grouping students by grade and multiage to foster personalized learning. While initially serving students from kindergarten to eighth grade, the academy will seamlessly transition into a middle school once an elementary school is established within Rivertown, ensuring a continuous and holistic educational journey for the community’s youth.


Silverleaf’s new K-8 Academy, currently in the planning phase, is scheduled for completion by the 2026-2027 school year. Serving approximately 1500 students, the academy will be located near Silver Landing within the Silverleaf community. Stay tuned as Silverleaf’s educational landscape evolves with the arrival of this exciting new academy.

Beacon Lake

Beacon Lake’s new K-8 academy, opening fall 2024, sprawls over 40 acres, serving 1500 students. With 32 primary and 22 intermediate classrooms, the academy fosters groupings by grade or multi-age. Specialized facilities include science labs, art and music rooms, and vocational education labs, ensuring a holistic learning experience. Additionally, it houses administrative suites, dining areas, and a media center, promising a dynamic educational environment for students to thrive.


Nocatee’s upcoming K-8 Academy, currently in the planning stages, is on track for completion by the 2026-2027 school year. Situated in the Seabrook community within Nocatee, the academy is poised to serve around 1500 students. Stay tuned as Nocatee continues to enhance its educational offerings with the arrival of this anticipated new academy.
